Aliza Fan Dutt has over 30 years experience - energy financial analyst and journalist in Washington, D.C., New York City area and Houston.

Aliza started her career in Washington, D.C. in 1992 as a reporter on television and later in print for Dow Jones and The Oil Daily covering The White House, Capitol Hill, federal agencies such as the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Department of Energy and financial news on Wall Street. Aliza’s articles have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, NYT, and Dow Jones.

In 1996, she moved to the New York City area and in 2001 to Houston as a financial analyst for independent oil & gas research company John S. Herold, Inc. (acquired by IHS and S&P Global) where she specialized in multiple financial analytics, including net asset value, discounted cash flow and M&A transaction value.  Aliza was a renowned expert in energy employment trends, prices and capital spending, giving speeches domestically and internationally (Netherlands, UK and Canada) Aliza and Herold CEO Art Smith authored pioneer reports “Graying of the Energy Industry” coming shortage of experienced personnel; and “Oil is Cheap'' compared to consumer items such as Evian and Visine.

Aliza is a proactive leader in local charities. She is on the advisory board of Devereux Behavioral Health TX (children with autism & intellectual disabilities). Executive board of Petal Power (delivers donated flowers from events to those in need) Leadership Committee of SEARCH Homeless House of Tiny Treasures Preschool volunteer group. She has chaired fundraisers for important causes including The Women's Fund; iWrite and SEARCH Homeless. Aliza is an active volunteer and a contributing writer for the community and local charities. 

Aliza holds a BS in Journalism and a BA in Sociology from the University of Maryland, College Park and Harlaxton College in Grantham, England since 1992. She has held the Series 65 license (Registered Investment Advisor). She has been a guest lecturer for the University of Houston - Master’s Accounting Certification in Energy.
