My name is Aliza Dutt. I'm on your team and I'm running for City of Piney Point Mayor on May 4th.

As a long-time resident of Houston and Piney Point, as well as having served nearly two years on Piney Point City Council, I have the experience and knowledge to properly fill the role of Mayor. I have developed strong working relationships with our residents, Mayor and City staff, as well as our police and fire departments. I hope you will take a few minutes to read why I have what it takes to be the most effective Mayor for Piney Point.

My husband Bryan and I are proud parents of three beautiful children. We’ve lived in Houston for 23 years, 14 years in the Memorial Villages, and 5 in Piney Point. I am on the advisory board of Devereux Behavioral Health TX serving children with autism and intellectual disabilities, the executive board of Petal Power which delivers flowers from events to uplift those in need, leadership committee of SEARCH Homeless House of Tiny Treasures preschool volunteer group and have chaired great causes such as iWrite and The Women’s Fund.

Just as I've led in other important community-based endeavors, I will lead Piney Point with optimism and class so we can continue to be a premier Texas community in which people are proud to raise their families and thrive among supportive and friendly neighbors. With 30 years as a journalist and financial analyst in oil and gas, I have managed large budgets and have the ability to listen and empathize with residents in order to protect our community and property values. I will prioritize key issues and proactively communicate with you in order to create harmony -- but I won't hesitate to speak up and push for what is right for our community.

The position of Mayor is a full-time job, not a hobby, and I’m ready to take that on for all of us. I will govern our beautiful city in a neighborly manner that reflects the character of our residents: with strength, tenacity, and integrity.
